Imagine a brand preparing a cleanser bottle, a serum bottle and a cream jar for individual retail sale. The aim: make them look related on the shelf without forcing every product into the same box.
This is a proposed scenario, not the brief behind an existing YDP order.
02 / THE PROPOSED DIRECTION
Coordinate the look. Size each carton separately.
Explore folding cartons for individual sale. A single gift box would group the products; one shared carton size could leave unnecessary space around smaller items.
Keep an ivory base and common artwork layout, then vary the accent colour and carton proportions. Final board, closure and any insert depend on the real products and packing conditions.
03 / PROPOSED SKU PLAN
A place for each product.
SKU means a distinct product or variant. These example pairings explain the concept; they are not measured specifications.
Illustrative product-to-carton plan — all three formats require sample review.
Example product
Carton direction
Why this direction
First physical check
Cleanser bottle
Tall format · blue accent
Follow the bottle profile while leaving room for its cap or pump.
Check overall height and clearance around the closure.
Serum bottle
Mid-height format · clay accent
Fit the smaller bottle; review support if the bottle moves inside.
Trial-fit the filled bottle and any dropper with proposed support.
Face cream jar
Wider format · olive accent
Allow for the jar and lid without copying the bottle proportions.
Check lid diameter, base support and removal from the carton.
Shared across the range: proposed ivory base, paper/finish direction and artwork layout. Different by design: accent colours, proportions and product copy. Screen colours are not print references.
04 / DEVELOPING IT WITH YDP
From a direction to reviewable samples.
For a project like this, we would propose the support below. Scope, sample charges and timing are agreed after reviewing your brief.
01 / DEFINE
A carton plan.
YDP: review product dimensions, suggest structures and flag where an insert may be needed.
You: share products or measurements and quantities by variant.
Proposed output: a per-product structure and sample plan.
